Norah Jones wurde am 30. März 1979 in Brooklyn, New York geboren. Neben ihrem Beruf als Jazz- und Soulsängerin ist sie außerdem Pianistin, Schauspielerin und Songwriterin.

Biographie: Die Sängrin nahm schon mit sechs Jahren Klavierunterricht. Für einige Zeit spielte sie auch Saxophon. Bereits während ihrer Schulzeit erhielt sie Preise für ihren Gesang und ihre Kompositionen. Neben dem Studium sang sie in der Band "Laszlo“. 1999 zog sie nach New York und trat regelmäßig mit der Funk-Band "Wax Poetic“ auf. Bald darauf gründet sie ihre eigene Band. 2001 unterschrieb sie ihren ersten Plattenvertrag. Ihr Debütalbum "Come Away With Me“ gewann 2003 acht "Grammys“, wodurch sie einem breiten Publikum bekannt wurde. Ein Jahr später erschien das Album "Feels Like Home“. 2006 veröffentlichte sie mit der Band "The Little Willies“ eine gleichnamige Platte. Am 26. Januar 2007 erschien ihr drittes Album "Not Too Late“.
